VSPCA celebrates Pride month!
VSPCA is an inclusive organization that empowers people from all walks of life, no matter their background, caste, gender and sexuality. VSPCA knows that the LGBTQI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex) community suffers from various de-humanizing forms of oppression from dominant groups, systems and institutions in society.
People belonging to the LGBTQ+ community are truly and genuinely compassionate toward animals. They seek close bonds with all varieties of animals and this is an observable fact! VSPCA, having worked with several people rescued from the sex trade and from the LGBTQ+ community, understands that those who are hurt and traumatized by society do not want to continue the harm that was done to them to others, including animals. They empathize with minority communities and animals and treat them with kindness and care.
We ask our beloved readers and supporters of VSCPA that we look at all individuals as just that – individuals with agency and autonomy. At the very least, think about ourselves in their shoes and how we would want the same respect and love from other individuals. We urge you to feel the compassion rise within you and let’s celebrate this PRIDE month with an outpouring of love and respect for those who often never get love and respect from society!
