Dear well-wishers and supporters,

The year 2018 has started with a lot of expectations to do more for the innocent, voiceless and helpless animals and also for the silently depriving and depleting environment. With a big hope, we have entered the 22nd year and we are still working hard to achieve the global cause of animal welfare ad environmental preservation with utmost dedication.

We could initiate many crucial projects apart from the existing ones.

The quarterly period from January-March was highly promising and we could collaborate and achieve some good achievements which may result in fruitful situation which are highly solution oriented.

ABC of Animal Birth Control Programme for street dogs

As a good move toward whole some and complete package of training various institutions and organizations which would help in preventing unnecessary culling and cruelties inflicted against thousands of dogs on streets.

The training has commenced and the first initiative was undertaken to train the animal handlers of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Raigad districts. The training sessions involved humane way of catching and handling dogs through Butterfly Net Catching technique.

The number of attendees was 46 working in different Sterilization stations of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Raigad.

Collaboration with the A.W.A.K.E (Animal Welfare and Knowledge Exchange)

Was achieved to improvise the veterinary standards with highly sophisticated methodologies.

Soon a wholesome training institute of a sophisticated, comprehensive, one of its kind which would have a detailed training package regarding sterilization, asepsis maintenance in the shelters, pain management in distressed animals, animal handling etc.

The training was provided already to all local veterinarians belonging to Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Around 56 veterinarians stood to benefit from this training. Eligible ones were provided with certificates.

V.S.P.C.A has launched the Integrated Cat Protection Program (C.P.P)

The Cat Protection Program includes all aspects of their welfare and protection which involves Awareness, Education Campaigns regarding peaceful coexistence with cats, cat sterilization and vaccination, combating cat catchers, cat rescues and adoptions and maintaining cat shelters.

As a kick start we have campaigned in various slums and vulnerable areas to community based protection approach.

Adoption Drive With Local Government

V.S.P.C.A has initiated the Adoption drive focusing the community dogs and cats. With an aim to remove the tags of strays and street animals and to encourage the wide level acceptance of the dogs and cats on roads.

This also impacted the cooperation of urban local bodies to encourage the initiative.

Big Awareness Campaign at Villages to Save Simhachalam Temple Calves

We have also started the awareness campaigns for the Simhachalam project. Our team has campaigned in more than 150 villages of Vizanagaram and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh.

We are working towards the zero donations of calves by ignorant devotees to the Simhachalam Temple.
