Most male calves are considered unproductive and left on the road to fend for themselves. So is the case with this calf too. With local authorities suspending their actions on stray cattle due to COVID priorities the calves are on the roads. However, with no food in the dustbins and complete Lockdown, these stray ones do not get food and water and are exposed to starvation and dehydration. We have had two such incidences and brought to our shelter for rehabilitation. These types of abandoned cases are a big threat to illegal slaughterhouses. They must be brought in otherwise they will disappear overnight into the illegal slaughterhouses.
