Abandoned Dog Hanging from a Window Sill has been Rescued!

A few days ago, we received a distress call from a local resident stating that a dog had accidentally fallen and was stuck on the roof of a sunshade located on the third floor of the building. Upon receiving this news, our team rushed to the spot with nets, food, water, and medicines. After struggling for over three hours, we rescued the scared and dehydrated pup. Upon a quick inspection for obvious injuries, we provided some food and water to him.

After some investigative communications with local residents, we pieced together that the dog did not belong to this neighbourhood. He was abandoned by his owner and was left in unfamiliar territory. Due to this, he was the victim of canine territory fights. After being chased by the neighbourhood dogs, he ran up to the top floor of the building to escape, but unfortunately, slipped and fell

He was lucky that he fell to the roof of the sunshade and was able to keep his balance on it for almost 12 hours. Even when our team got there, it was a very delicate and difficult rescue situation as we did not want the pup to lose his footing and fall to the ground.

Currently, after a thorough checkup at our shelter by our ever-dedicated medical team, he has been re-homed to a loving family.

Abandoning one’s pet is akin to leaving children out on the streets to fend for themselves. For domesticated animals, abandonment amounts to animal cruelty. There are circumstances where people may not be able to continue caring for animals. However, it is necessary to do everything possible to see that your family’s pet is in safe hands at another forever home or at a shelter.  Please continue to support VSPCA for its work related to many unanticipated events and issues – where residents turn to us, as their go-to animal organisation caring for animals. Resources and funds are necessary to support urban animals who have no one to care for them. We thank you for all your support.
