Two more crows have been rescued from a kite entanglement.
Yet another kite rescue! This time our volunteer team was led by Vivek who found the bird was lying on the ground with an injured wing. The Zoo authorities of Visakha were again refusing to take in the bird citing reasons beyond our understanding. With no help or cooperation received from them, we have taken upon ourselves the task of rescue, treatment and rehabilitation at our shelter.
Banning the flying of kites during the festival times or otherwise need to be seriously considered as they are the biggest threat to the birds. We observe the severest of cases with these kind of entanglements and is a threat to all kind of birds. There is no happiness when birds are being fatally hurt. We gain a lot of happiness by allowing the birds to move freely without any fear as they should be.
